TEDxTokyo is very pleased to announce that Touchy Human Camera will be joining us this Saturday for our May 31st event at Hikarie Hall in Shibuya. For those who are unfamiliar with this memorable character, Touchy is a human camera with a unique story: without touch, he is blind. Touch him and he can see. Touch him for 10 seconds and he’ll remember your time together with a photo.

Touchy is a living embodiment of our 2014 theme “Connecting the Unconnected”. By creating opportunities for individuals to connect through the simple acts of touch and eye-contact, Touchy offers us a photographic lens to feel the power of touch in a way we might never experience. His goal is to bring communication back to reality in our highly digitized world; breaking through social boundaries and bringing people from all spheres together via human contact.

TEDxTokyo and Touchy hope that through these unique interactions our attendees will have a wonderful opportunity to make new connections they might not make anywhere else. If you see Touchy this Saturday, please take the chance to step forward, reach out and embrace the new experiences touch can open up for you.
